Dr. Efosa Airuehia is a passionate, empathic physician who believes in a holistic evidence-based approach to treatment. He is quadruple Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Addictions Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr Airuehia’s medical training commenced in the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria where he graduated from in 2000. Seeking to further enhance his training, he proceeded to the United Kingdom and commenced his psychiatry training with the West Midlands School of Psychiatry, Birmingham, England. He obtained his Membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, England (MRCPsych) in 2008. Dr. Airuehia subsequently moved to the United States where he completed his residency training in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with the University of Missouri Columbia, where he won the Outstanding Fellow Award. This was shortly followed by his board certifications in Addictions Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine.

He is an Honorary Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has won several awards including Top Psychiatrist 2017, recognized by the Leading Physicians of the World. He has multiple publications in the field of mental health and is currently the CEO and Founder of Prime Psychiatry P.A.

Dr. Airuehia’s extensive training and work experience across the three continents of Africa, Europe and North America place him in a good stead to render professional expertise for various mental health disorders and addictions, using evidence-based practices. He has a passion for the field of Addictions Medicine and yens to provide his services to Sub Saharan Africa where this need continues to grow in bounds.
