DR. OBINNA IGWILO

Chief of Surgery

Obinna Igwilo is the President of Carolina Surgical Specialists, PA and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery with Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He is actively engaged in the practice of surgery with the Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, NC as well as the training of medical students and surgical residents.

A 1986 Dean’s list graduate of the University of Nigeria College of Medicine, Enugu, he has since completed an extensive training in the United Kingdom and the United States obtaining the Fellowships of the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as the American College of Surgeons. He is board certified in General Surgery with special interest in Robotics, minimally invasive access surgery, advanced laparoscopic and Endoscopic procedures.

Over the years, he has been proactive in the transfer of technology through telemedicine, medical tourism, disaster management in medically disadvantaged areas with special skills in construction and building management having being actively involved in large scale relocation of disaster communities, medical offices and hospitals
